Ben Stiller has been hard at work on his directorial follow-up to 2008's "Tropic Thunder," an adaptation of the James Thurber short story "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty." What Stiller's take on "Walter Mitty" might look like was largely a mystery until the first trailer for the movie debuted online today and caught many people off guard.
What they found was a beautifully shot, moody trailer that shows Stiller as a photo researcher for Life Magazine, who escapes into his adventurous daydreams.
If the trailer is any indication of the tone of the final film, this could potentially enter the Oscar conversation, especially with the December 25 release date. Keep a close eye on this one, but for now, we're definitely adding it to our "must-see" list.
The film also stars Kristen Wiig, Adam Scott (in an amazing beard), Sean Penn, and Patton Oswalt.
